Reviews for “A Little Saturday Night Music”
“It makes perfect sense that Floyd Vincent should cut a live album: the guy has virtually lived on the road for the past 25-and-bit years, firstly with his Childbrides, now out front of a trio named The Temple Dogs. ( He’s slowed down in recent years due to family, but only a little.)
Just like any great gig, Vincent covers all bases here, leading with the fleet -fingered, flamenco -styled picking of Blue Decade and getting his Latin rock thing on during 1000 Miles In My Mind and King Karmine, all the while working his way up and down and around the fretboard like the crack guitar-slinger that he is.
Granted these lively jams are more for sticky carpet-lovin middle agers than cool kids, but its a handy snapshot of a guy who continues doing things the old school way

“Absolutely loving the new album! It is best recorded stuff I have ever heard from you I think. Almost as good as hearing you play live. Dancing around the loungeroom… Thanks for the good medicine Mr Music Man.”

Reviews for Monkey Puzzle Album
Sydney born Floyd Vincent is a musical gypsy – he has a live following in Europe that’s every bit as dedicated as his fan-base up and down the east coast of Oz. Though at heart he’s a rocker and essentially a live performer he likes to mix up the moods. Monkey Puzzle packs everything from latino grooves (Rodeo) to tasty sambas ( Yamba Samba), smooth ballads (The Knightingale Song) and trippy psychedelia ( 1000 Miles In My Mind). And when Vincent cuts loose on his six string during “Moderna Sound” its as if he and his Childbrides have unearthed some lost Santana jam
Jeff Apter The Bulletin April 2006
Monkey Puzzle picks up nicely where Last Exit Motel left off and showcases his amazing band of musicians. Floyd is the king of the coast.
Sebastian Skeet – Drum Media Sydney Feb 2006
It is really great to pick up such a high quality independent CD. The music ranges from latin beats, acoustic driven rock to atmospheric drums. As a whole, this is one of the best albums I have heard this year. This is an album that deserves wide airplay.
Celia Pattison Levi – BMA Magazine Canberra March 2006
Floyd and his band The Childbrides have fashioned consistently enjoyable, superbly crafted pop-rock songs shot through with a tangible jazz influence and an undeniably latin-derived rhythmic pulse. Monkey Puzzle is a memorable unpretentious delight.
Perry Couch – Rave Magazine Brisbane May 2006
Monkey Puzzle is a genre on its own. They are talented musicians that had me usually an emo-punk rock chick, grooving to the cross – culture uplifting music. This is music performed by eccentric musicians whose pace and guitar riffs leave you reaching for the repeat button.

Under the somewhat eccentric auspices of Floyd Vincent the band plays fiery and feckless blends of Latin, Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and World Music.

While the Childbrides aren’t exactly household name in this country, they are certainly known in Europe.
